SERVICE MANAGER 

Dunfords Powersports and Marine is looking for a take-charge, energetic, self-starter who can excel in a fast paced, customer focused environment. We are seeking a highly motivated, aggressive Service Manager to lead our busy and expanding service department. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience in the power sport industry with proven leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage our service and build shops, generating a high level of quality output while ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

The selected candidate will be responsible for achieving our company volume, overhead and profit targets while consistently maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and retention. To achieve this, he or she must effectively lead and manage personnel; have a strong knowledge of the service market, and be able to effectively communicate and work with all other departments in support of our company standards & goals.

The Service Manager oversees employees and operations of the service department in key areas including:
  • Service Department Operations
  • Provide prompt, dependable, high quality service to customers
  • Create detailed work orders to provide to specialized technicians delegating service jobs based on specialized skill level
  • Maximize productivity levels of service technicians
  • Ensures service department achieves our expected company levels of profitability
  • Review work-in-progress to ensure quality and timeliness
  • Assist technicians and other department staff as required
  • Works closely with the Parts Manager that ensures a smooth flow of parts to service technicians during jobs
  • Strive to maintain a clean, efficient and orderly department
  • Maintain a high degree of customer satisfaction
  • Greet customers immediately, in a polite and friendly manner
  • Handle customer complaints reasonably, showing empathy and a positive attitude, demonstrating our commitment to “Make Things Right”
  • Support additional projects/duties as may be required by senior management

MECHANIC
 
Dunfords Powersports and Marine is a family run business serving Peterborough and Hastings Counties since 1971.  Located on Highway 30 in Havelock, we serve our valuable marine and leisure clients allowing them to enjoy the outdoors and surrounding lakes.

The Mechanic position is responsible for maintenance activities to new and used product carried out in the Main Shop and reports directly to the Dunfords Lead Mechanic & Service Manager.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
  • Maintaining Main Shop for cleanliness/organization
  • Ensuring Main Shop has adequate supply of shop supplies for efficient operations and informing Lead Mechanic/Service Manager/Parts Manager of impending shortages
  • Monitoring Main Shop & surrounding area for safety violations & correcting/reporting any unsafe environment
  • Input of data into the Ideal computer system ensuring accuracy
  • Maintaining timely communication with the Lead Mechanic/Service Manager if problems occur that will affect the delivery time of the product
  • Inspection/diagnosis/repair/service and test run on all Powersports/Lawncare Equipment/Marine and Power Equipment as directed by the Lead Mechanic/Service Manager
  • Inspection/diagnosis/repair/service and test run on trade-in equipment as required by the Lead Mechanic/Service Manager
  • Maintaining current knowledge of product and tool advancements and the required education for accurate & timely repair/service of Dunfords workload
  • Assistance with inventory counts as prescribed by the General Manager
  • Ensuring pleasant customer interaction
  • Training new employees
  • Other related tasks as directed by the Service Manager
